I had missed you. This was depressing, but so necessary. Thank you for exposing what is going on in Israel to the Palestinians. Too few in the mainstream media are doing so. Too many are afraid of the ‘antisemitic’ label. But there are those who agree that the greatest cause of the current rise in antisemitism are the actions of Netanyahu and his government. I would recommend the documentary No Other Land and One Day Everyone will Always Have Been Against This by Omar El Akad.
Thank you for this, as truly horrific a report as it is. It's mind-boggling that the whole world sees the truth about Gaza, but nothing is done to stop it - and that Americans can't stop the mad king and his minions from destroying their democratic republic.
A bleak review of current affairs indeed. The deteriorating state of democracy in the US needs to be watched closely, and any spillover resisted. As for Palestine, essays by David Shulman in the New York Review of Books (e.g. in the May 9, Sep 17 and Dec 18, 2024 issues) have brought home to me the deeply destructive policy and action on the West Bank (and for Gaza one need only follow the daily news).
David Shulman is is a Professor Emeritus at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and is a longtime activist with Ta’ayush, the Arab–Jewish Partnership, in the occupied Palestinian territories. His on-the-ground reports are searing.
I could not bear to "like" this because what you describe is so horrific. That said - thank you for writing it, painful as that must have been.

I've been meaning to pick up a copy of El Akad's book and keep forgetting. Thanks for the reminder!
