Great article! Your insight into AI is being echoed by a number of others including those in the tech world. Their concerns - as you have also pointed out - are the owners (oligarchs) of the companies providing AI access and building the data centres to generate AI. Policy to ensure human rights is not advancing quickly enough and with the tech oligarchs in the White House buying influence with the president, constraining policy in the US will be long in coming, if ever. Canada needs to leap-frog this situation and put guardrails in place for CDNs while encouraging made-in-Canada tech.
Yup. I pay to use Kagi, which not only avoids giving you AI by default but also lets you filter out AI slop in its results. (Though that's getting harder and harder.) But the problem is that avoiding the garbage is getting more difficult and more expensive.

1- Renounce all enslavement to corporations' algorithms.
2- Type -ai before your search terms to avoid potentially false results.
