Yet, it’s so easy to get swept up in the tide of simplistic narratives. As an Iranian-Canadian with family and friends in both Israel and Lebanon (i.e., with skin in the game, if you will), I’m compelled to take a position, but terrified of grasping at “facts” that belie an insidious fiction. I have little choice but to rely on “trusted voices” these days, which is inherently problematic, I know. To date, I’ve had no reason to doubt your commitment to journalistic rigour, so thank you for keeping me/us informed. No pressure!
